Movement works better together
Step-Up is built around the idea that people are more likely to stay active when they feel part of something shared. Participants join a team — such as a workplace, department, or community group — and complete everyday activity challenges as individuals.
Individual progress contributes to a wider team picture, helping people see how they're doing over time, how their team is progressing, and how different teams compare across an organisation or programme.
Movement becomes a positive, social experience — not an individual obligation.
Step-Up is designed to work across a wide range of settings, including:
- ✓Workplace wellbeing programmes (teams, departments, organisations)
- ✓Community and local authority health initiatives
- ✓University and student wellbeing programmes
- ✓Large-scale public health campaigns
- ✓Seasonal, regional, or event-based activity challenges

Recognising and rewarding participation
Step-Up is designed to create engagement through participation, recognition, and visible progress. When rewards are used, they are defined collaboratively with the client and tailored to the specific programme and available budget.
Configurable reward formats
Support a mix of rewards, including fixed prizes, raffles, and mystery boxes — allowing programmes to balance certainty, fairness, and excitement.
Budget-aware by design
Rewards are always aligned to programme budgets, with quantities, probabilities, and limits defined upfront.
Partner and local rewards
Programmes can include partner-provided or locally relevant rewards, supporting community engagement and real-world incentives.
Fair and transparent distribution
Clear eligibility rules ensure rewards are distributed consistently and fairly across individuals, teams, and campaigns.

Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about how Step-Up works and how organisations can get started.
Are the daily challenges the same for everyone?↓
Yes. Everyone within the same programme receives the same challenges. Typically, there are two challenges per day — one easier and one more demanding — as well as weekly challenges. All challenges are randomised, so participants see fresh, unique challenges each day.
Is Step-Up suitable for all ages and abilities?↓
Yes. Step-Up focuses on everyday movement, measured through step count, rather than fitness performance or intensity. This makes it suitable for a broad range of ages and abilities.
Is this only for workplaces?↓
No. Step-Up can be used by workplaces, local authorities, universities, community organisations, and public health programmes.
What data does Step-Up collect?↓
Step-Up only collects the data required to support the programme and track activity. Participants must explicitly grant permission to connect their device in order to read step count data. Data handling and privacy can be aligned with organisational and public-sector requirements.
How is activity data collected?↓
Step-Up uses step data collected directly from Apple Health (HealthKit). Participants connect HealthKit once, allowing Step-Up to read step counts from trusted sources such as iPhone sensors or connected wearables. Activity data is not entered manually, helping ensure accuracy, fairness, and consistency across the programme.
How much does Step-Up cost?↓
Pricing depends on the number of participants and the level of bespoke content or configuration required. As an example, a small organisation using a standard version of Step-Up would typically pay around €99 per month, with discounts available for annual upfront commitments.
